Cradles to Crayons Mounts Region-Wide Collection Effort to Support Greater Philadelphia Martin Luther King Day of Service, January 21
Local Organizations Invited to Provide Drop-Off Points for Donations

To celebrate the 18th annual Greater Philadelphia Martin Luther King Day of Service Cradles to Crayons is going region-wide in its largest product collection initiative in its history. On Monday, January 21, between 10:00 am and 3:00 pm we will collect vitally needed everyday essential items for disadvantaged children, aged 0-12 in all five counties in the greater Philadelphia region.

Hosted at firehouses, businesses and community centers around the region, on Monday January 21, it will be easier than ever to bring your new and nearly new infants’ and children’s clothing, warm coats, hats, shoes, boots, gloves, newborn baby items, baby safety equipment, toys, books and school supplies to benefit the children served by Cradles to Crayons.

This initiative will be complemented by collection programs at a series of suburban schools. Click here for a preliminary list of sites and hours; more will be announced next week. For details on what Cradles to Crayons can accept, click here

“We will have numerous collection points throughout the five-state region,” said Cradles to Crayons outreach manager, Jeff Baxter, “and encourage any organization that wants to be a drop off site for this important initiative to join us.. Simply put,” he added, “the more collection points we have, the more items we will be able to supply to children living in low-income and/or homeless situations.” Anyone interested can contact Jeff at jeff@cradlestocrayons.org or 215-836-0958 x210.
