Boston Business Journal publisher Christopher McIntosh welcomes local top executives to the first annual Presidents Day Celebration of Service at Cradles to Crayons in Brighton Wednesday morning. The event was sponsored by the Boston Chamber of Commerce and the Boston Business Journal.

Last week, about 50 Boston-area executives spent a day volunteering at Cradles to Crayons‘ Boston facility, in Brighton. The event, which celebrated Presidents Day, was sponsored by the Boston Chamber of Commerce and the Boston Business Journal.

Founded in 2002, Cradles to Crayons is a nonprofit that works to provide children age 12 and under new and used goods like clothes, school supplies and toys.

The executives sorted, assembled and bagged items for “C2C KidPacks” – bundles of supplies to be delivered to the organization’s young beneficiaries.

Executives were present from WBZ, Partners Health, Seaport Companies, Paradigm Properties, Digitas, Harvard Pilgrim Health Care, Suffolk Design and Construction, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Eastern Bank and Citizens Bank, among others. View photos of the event in the slide show, at right.
