JANUARY 30, 2017 BOSTON—The Boston Bruins are teaming up with Cradles to Crayons, Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners and Wonderfund to bring Boston a February full of events supporting the sports team’s 11th annual PJ Drive.

The PJ Drive, which will be led by captain Zdeno Chara for the third time, gives new, unused pajamas to children of all ages throughout Massachusetts. And after kicking off its collection last week, the drive will stay in full swing throughout the next month in the hopes of collecting 15,000 pairs to distribute to youngins in need.

First on its schedule of events: An in-game pajama collection when our guys take on the Toronto Maple Leafs on Saturday. Fans who donate a pair of new jammies — or $10 to Cradles to Crayons — will be entered into a raffle to win a selection of Bruins prizes.

The Bruins will also host a PJ Drive story time at the Fiske Public Library in Wrentham on Feb. 21 from 11 a.m. to noon. Members of the National Honor Society from Franklin High School, along with the Bruins’ mascot Blades, will sit down to read stories to local kiddos.

To keep the family fun going, the PJ Drive will hold an afternoon of bowling. When children bring a pair of pajamas to Ryan Family Amusements in Buzzards Bay on Feb. 22, they can hit the lanes for $5. Folks can have a ball from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

And to cap off its stretch of events, the Bruins will host a stuffed animal sleepover at the Amesbury Public Library on Feb. 23 starting at 11 a.m. Children are encouraged to bring their favorite plush pals to the library, where they’ll nap together as inanimate objects do, while the kids can partake in fun and games.

Organizations are also encouraged to make a group effort to donate pajamas. The Bruins will award the top-three donors prizes, like a street hockey clinic, a visit from their mascot Blades and a piece of autographed merch.
