Ella McCombs, a middle schooler at Peoria Middle School, chose Cradles to Crayons to honor with her Capstone Service Project. Ella coordinated a donation drive in her community, completing all of the advertising and logistics herself. We’re so grateful to Ella, and inspired that this young girl who does not live near Chicago and who has not yet been involved in her community was truly motivated to make sure she helped children she would never meet. She thanked all of our staff for giving her the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of children in need, and created a video to highlight the experience.
These are the types of experiences that we hope to continually craft in the areas we serve. Our mission and model serve as a way to make an impactful, positive changes in current and future generations, and to continue to help as many children as possible receive the necessary items they need to thrive at home, at school, and at play.
