Theater Night Benefiting Cradles to Crayons

Magnifique! After such a long time, I couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate my personal return to live theater, than Moulin Rouge! The Musical—and what a celebration it was!

As a fan of the classic movie, I was curious to see how such  a visual production would translate to the stage, and I can confidently say they did so with flying colors—literally! The set was exceedingly colorful from start to finish—a real feast for the senses. While normally at Cradles to Crayons, I look  at the world through purple-colored glasses, I left the Nederlander Theatre seeing nothing but Rouge.

The show, an updated version of the movie, whisks the audience away to Paris, making you feel like you’re at the real Moulin Rouge more than the movie ever could, in the way only live theater can. But it certainly wasn’t just a redux of the film. The play kept things fresh and entertaining by incorporating newer pop hits that that make you want to sing along, in addition to some of the main songs that had you tapping your feet in the movie theater over 20 years ago.

What a fun way to support our mission by attending the theater night benefiting Cradles to Crayons on Thursday, April 21st. We only have a limited number of tickets available, so be sure to get yours now! See you at the Moulin Rouge!
