What an inspiring first month it has been as CEO of Cradles to Crayons! Building on our founder Lynn Margherio’s remarkable legacy, I recognize both the responsibility and the privilege of leading this beloved organization.
For those of you who don’t know me, I have spent my career fostering impact and growth in non-profit organizations, with a focus on supporting the success of young people. It has been wonderful to spend time in Boston, Philadelphia, and Chicago, getting to know our talented staff, working alongside our committed volunteers, and meeting incredible Service Partners and supporters.
After immersing myself in the work and witnessing first-hand the passion of our C2C community across the country, I am even more inspired—because this community shows up for children, and for each other. Together, we distributed more than 200,000 packages of clothing and essentials to kids just in the past few months!
I believe the kids we support deserve our very best. This is what brought me to C2C and it has been a lifelong commitment for me. I want kids to wake up every day feeling proud of who they are and dreaming big about who they will become. When we provide a warm coat, clean clothes, and shoes that fit, we’re giving children more than clothes—we’re showing them they matter and giving them the confidence to thrive.
When I walked into the Giving Factory last fall for a volunteer shift, I immediately understood the magic of HOW we do this work. We create spaces of joy, connection, and empathy—where people and communities come together in service. Every day I see school groups, families, companies, young adults, churches, senior groups and more finding community here and being reminded that we can take positive action together—we can be a force for good!
As you can imagine, I have a lot of listening and learning to do. And I am looking forward to spending time getting to know you—hearing about how you connect to our mission and your hopes for our future. Our north star will remain, keeping children at the very core of this organization and maintaining our commitment to Quality = Dignity.
I will be sharing more updates and highlights from our work across the country, lifting up stories of impact and offering ways that we can all take part in expanding our reach to more children.
