The Clothing Carnival Sets Cradles to Crayons as Beneficiary of Donated/Unsold Items at its Weekend Sale at 263 Marketplace
October 12-14 Event Offers Children’s Clothing, Sports Equipment, Toys and More
WARMINSTER, October 9 – The Clothing Carnival, the local traveling children’s consignment sale, has selected Cradles to Crayons, the West Conshohocken-based nonprofit organization that addresses the poverty faced by area children, as the beneficiary partner of its upcoming children’s consignment sale in Warminster.
The event, set for Friday, Oct. 12 – Sunday, Oct. 14, will be held at the 263 Marketplace indoor shopper’s village at 700 Old York Road (across from Archbishop Wood High School) in Warminster.
“The weekend will be a win-win-win for the Warminster and surrounding communities,” Jennifer M. Young, The Clothing Carnival Inc. president said.
- Local families can earn extra money by consigning for sale their new and used children’s items that no longer fit, have fallen out of favor, or simply were never used – everything from clothing and sports equipment to toys and nursery items,
- Shoppers at the consignment sale will get great deals on these consigned items, some offered with as much as 50 percent discounts, and
- Items that don’t sell will be given to Cradles to Crayons for use in its year-round efforts to address the poverty faced by one in five children, birth through age 12, in our area and throughout the Greater Philadelphia region.
“The Clothing Carnival searched carefully for a worthy organization that would be able to get to children in need the quality donations we would have after every sale,” Young explained. “We looked at several organizations but after one tour of Cradles to Crayons’ Giving Factory the decision was clear: This was the only organization where we could actually see needed items coming in, being processed, and then going out to specific low-income and homeless children.
“As well,” Young said, “we will have a special container bin at 263 Marketplace to collect items that shoppers bring with them for direct donation to Cradles to Crayons. Especially needed at this time of year,” she stressed, “are warm coats, hats, shoes, gloves and boots for children through 12 years old.
“Cradles to Crayons is a perfect complement to The Clothing Carnival model,” she added, “enabling us to make our consignment shopping experience a great way for everyone involved to earn some extra money, find great bargains, have fun…and help those in need.”
