Spring Greening 2018

Don’t Just Spring Clean –

When you clean out your closets and donate children’s essentials to Cradles to Crayons® this Spring, you’re not only supporting kids in need with the clothing, books, and other items they need for success, you’re also keeping valuable resources from becoming landfill waste!

Our Spring Greening initiative runs from March through May and focuses on the importance of material donations–because they keep our model moving all year round. In addition to help recycling your new and gently used goods, Spring Greening also helps support a healthy environment!

This initiative includes the Fifth Annual Metroplex May Day product collection drive. More information on this event is included below.

Did you know the average American citizen throws out 82 pounds of clothing per year?

Fabrics that end up in landfills produce toxic greenhouse gasses that are emitted into the atmosphere—which is dangerous for our environment and hazardous for our health.

When: Thursday, May 24 , 10:00 am – 5:00 pm
Where: Plymouth Meeting Metroplex, Target Parking Lot. 2250 Chemical Road, Plymouth Meeting, PA, 19462. Please see map for more details.
What: Cradles to Crayons and The Goldenberg Group will host the 5th Annual Metroplex May Day Collection. Cradles to Crayons will be collecting everyday items for children in homeless and low-income situations, ages 0-12, in the Greater Philadelphia region. Volunteers from both organizations will be on hand to collect donations of new and gently used children’s clothing, shoes, books, toys, baby equipment, and school supplies. For a full list of items we accept please click here.
Battle of the Schools: The two local schools who collect the most items and raise the most funds will named Top Collector and will each win a trophy, bragging rights, and a prize of $1,250!

Items We Accept

Please go through your closets and dressers to identify good-condition clothing, shoes, lightweight jackets, winter coats & snow boots which your children may have outgrown since last year. We also need new or gently-used books, toys and baby gear.
