Cradles to Crayons began with the vision of one individual who was determined to make a difference in the world. Today, the Cradles to Crayons community has grown to include thousands of young people and adults — working together to make a difference in the lives of tens of thousands of children each year.

One in Three People in the United States Living in Poverty is a Child

Cradles to Crayons currently meets a critical need in three regions that have significant percentages of children living below the poverty line-Boston, 33%, Philadelphia 37%, and Chicago 33%. Poverty is defined as a family of four living off $24,250 or less for the year. But statistics don’t get to the heart of what we do. We help kids who don’t have access to basic resources; kids without shoes that fit, a coat warm enough to fend off winter winds, or a backpack to carry their books to and from school.

Including Cradles to Crayons in the celebration of your milestone event is a great way to share the importance of giving back. Use our Giving Recipes below to inspire your next milestone event.

Volunteer at The Giving Factory, organize a clothing drive, raise money or use one of our other ingredients to make an immediate difference in your community.
