Champion Corps
Section Leader and Giving Factory Champions
Cradles to Crayons Champion Volunteer Corps members are adult volunteers who take a leadership role to help recruit and guide volunteers in their communities and/or in The Giving Factory. Champion Volunteer Corps members help us increase our impact and serve more children. There are three ways you can get involved in the Champion Volunteer Corps:
- Section Leader Champion
- Giving Factory Champion
- Community Champion
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must pass a background check.
- Must enjoy working with diverse groups of people.
- Must commit to at least 2 volunteer shifts per month for a minimum of 6 months to the program.
Section Leader Champion
The Section Leader Champions work collaboratively with the Operations Management Team to coordinate the volunteer experience and expectations in the warehouse and assist in managing the workflow of the warehouse to ensure Cradles to Crayons realizes its distribution goals. The Section Leaders lead groups of 10-25 volunteers in activities within the warehouse.
Schedule Options:
- Tuesday 5:45 pm-8 pm
- Wednesday 9:30 am-12:30 pm and/or 12:30 pm-3:30 pm
- Thursday 9:30 am-12:30 pm and/or 12:30 pm-3:30 pm
- Friday 9:30 am-12:30 pm and/or 12:30 pm-3:30 pm
- Saturday 9:30 am-12:30 pm and/or 12:30 pm-3:30 pm
Giving Factory Champion
The Giving Factory Champions work on Tuesdays during the day to support the maintenance and setup for the volunteer week ahead. Their work is also crucial in assisting the team with meeting weekly KidPack goals.
Schedule Options:
Giving Factory Champions volunteer most consistently on Tuesdays between 9:00 am-3:00 pm however they may choose to also attend one or more of the following shifts:
- Tuesday 5:45 pm-8 pm
- Wednesday 9:30 am-12:30 pm and/or 12:30 pm-3:30 pm
- Thursday 9:30 am-12:30 pm and/or 12:30 pm-3:30 pm
- Friday 9:30 am-12:30 pm and/or 12:30 pm-3:30 pm
- Saturday 9:30 am-12:30 pm and/or 12:30 pm-3:30 pm
Community Champion
The Community Champion Program engages adults in leadership roles within their own community, as a means of increasing Cradles to Crayons’ capacity to engage with volunteers outside of The Giving Factory warehouse. Opportunities for Community Champions include:
- Organizing annual community drives.
- Serving as a local drop-off location.
- Leading volunteers during annual community events.
- Hosting annual fundraisers or special events, such as “Baby Showers” or “Stuff-a-Trucks”.
- Promoting local Cradles to Crayons initiatives.
