A statement from Cradles to Crayons: A Lifelong Commitment to DEI 

Cradles to Crayons believes that Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion are required to build the society all children deserve—one that supports the whole child with everything they need to thrive. 

As a core value, we celebrate and uplift the diversity of ability, culture, economic status, gender, race, religion, and sexual orientation of our team, our Partners, and all who engage in our mission.  

We recognize the pervasive impacts that economic, racial, and gender-based barriers have on children and families. The work to End Clothing Insecurity is our commitment and action to ensure a more equitable future. Access to quality clothing and basic essentials provides dignity and inclusion for all aspects of a child’s life—and supports them to be their authentic selves.  

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion are fundamental to our work and motivate us to cultivate an environment and voice that upholds these values: 

-We raise awareness and educate on the issue of Clothing Insecurity, work towards a future where all children have equitable access to clothing, and elevate the urgency of meeting basic needs for families. 

-We commit to ensuring everyone is welcomed, included, and engaged in our mission at The Giving Factory Warehouse, Giving Factory Direct, in the community, and across our organization. 

-We engage our staff in conversations and learning opportunities about Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, and seek opportunities for continuous improvement, under the guidance of our DEI Council. 

-We actively work to further diversify our board, leadership, staff, and vendors.  

Building and maintaining a strong culture of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion is a life-long commitment and Cradles to Crayons will always have more work to do. We look forward to working in partnership with you as we lead the way to End Clothing Insecurity for all children.
