Star student athletes that are attending NFL Prep Academy, an invitation-only, four-day program for elite high school football athletes, will volunteer at Cradles to Crayons on June 18. The program brings together 41 high school athletes from across the country for classroom presentations and workshops including “Goal Setting,” “Healthy Relationships,” “Life Beyond Football” and “Leadership & Character Development.”

Sessions will include instruction from former NFL players including Garry Cobb, Steve Fitzhugh, Scott Galbraith, Eddie Mason, Freddie Scott and Tony Stewart. The inaugural program is presented by the NFL, the Pro Football Hall of Fame and The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

The high school athletes will participate in a volunteer project that culminates the program at Cradles to Crayons in West Conshohocken, PA, where they’ll help sort and quality-check donations of new & gently-used children’s clothing, shoes, books and toys, which are then packaged into custom KidPacks for children in need throughout the Greater Philadelphia region.

Cradles to Crayons provides children from birth through age 12 living in homeless or low-income situations with the essential items they need to thrive – at home, at school and at play. These items are supplied free of charge by engaging and connecting communities that have with communities that need.
