DEVON, PA, August 30, 2012 ― For the second year in a row, Prudential Fox & Roach, REALTORS and The Trident Group’s Annual Backpack Drive reached new heights, this year surpassing by more than 45 percent the number of backpacks it provided in 2011 to area underprivileged children served by Cradles to Crayons.
The milestone was marked today when managers, sales associates and other company employees were on hand at Cradles to Crayons in West Conshohocken to help unload the 12 palettes of backpacks, filled with school supplies and other personal items, in preparation for their distribution to local children in time for the start of school.
Fox & Roach Charities, a charitable foundation sponsored by Prudential Fox & Roach/Trident, and committed to addressing the needs of children and families in stressful life circumstances, coordinated the project with the company’s sales associates and employees, partnering with Five Below, the area retailer of merchandise to teens and pre-teens, and FlexBox Mobile Storage, the local moving/storage container firm.
“We understand, with one of five children in this region living below the poverty line,” said Fox & Roach Charities President Kassie Erb, “the challenges that so many parents face ― paying for rent and utilities, putting food on the table and still being able to provide their children what so many families take for granted: notebooks, pencils, and pocket folders, just like the other kids in school.
