Thank you to our Backpack-A-Thon® 2014 sponsors, volunteers, and supporters who made it possible to pack and distribute 22,000 backpacks to children in need in the Philadelphia area!

Cradles to Crayons hosted the 2014 Backpack-A-Thon® to pack and distribute 22,000 backpacks, stuffed with essential school supplies, to children in homeless and low-income circumstances in the Greater Philadelphia region.

Working beside some 400 other volunteers, Backpack-A-Thon® supporters stuffed brand new backpacks with all the new school supplies a child needs
to feel ready to learn: notebooks, pencils, rulers, calculators, and more.

Our network of more than 250 social service partners arrived at Lincoln Financial Field to pick up the backpacks and deliver them to the children they work with across the five Southeastern counties of Pennsylvania, as well as Camden.

Thanks to our sponsors’ support and efforts, more than 20,000 children will head to their first day of school with the tools they need to be ready to learn.
