C2C Quest for the Resilience Fund

The NEED

More than half of households earning less than $35,000 suffered a loss of income over the past year. Many are still struggling to make ends meet, with 47% currently behind in housing payments or other bills.

The FUND

The Resilience Fund aims to serve communities hardest hit by the pandemic, by helping Cradles to Crayons to acquire, process, and distribute essential items to families who are working to get back on their feet.

The EVENT

C2C Quest is a multi-day, region-wide community experience, with a goal of raising awareness of C2C’s mission and impact while raising much-needed financial support. 

C2C Quest provides an opportunity for families, community groups, and corporations to engage in fun, friendly competition while working together to successfully complete “missions” from their own homes & neighborhoods.

As an all-ages event, C2C Quest offers missions ranging from silly to serious. Tasks involve creative ways to support Cradles to Crayons, including activities which promote C2C on social media & in the community, volunteer projects such as collecting & inspecting children’s items, and peer-to-peer fundraising challenges.

Teams have 4 days (5/12 pm – 5/16 pm) to earn points by sharing photo & video evidence of accomplished missions, providing ample time for everyone to participate on their own schedule.

Join us as we honor our Teen Leaders & other youth who have stepped up to support C2C,
before we announce winning teams and individual awards for C2C Quest participants.

Choose to participate in one of three C2C Quest divisions:

FAMILY Division

In the Family Division, each family or household is considered one team, competing against other families.

Every person in your household is a team member and can submit evidence of completed missions to earn points.

Family Leadership Circle: Your current membership includes participation in this new event! 

COMMUNITY Division

The Community Division is ideal for clubs, school groups, faith-based organizations, troops, sports teams, extended families, neighborhoods, or any other multi-household group who would like to work together, competing against other multi-household teams.

Community teams need a Team Captain. Learn more about creating a Community Team and the role of a Team Captain.

CORPORATE Division

Companies who support the Resilience Fund will have an opportunity to sponsor individual C2C Quest missions and invite employees to participate as a team in the Corporate Division.

Are there prizes?

Of course there are prizes! Well, sort of. . .

At the virtual Awards Ceremony, we will announce the top point earners in each Division (Family, Community, Corporate.) These teams will earn bragging rights and will be featured on our website, social media, and in the Giving Factory. 

We will also present several “Best of” awards for outstanding entries in various missions.  Some of these will also be featured on our website & social media.

In addition, successful completion of certain missions will earn FREE entries for our raffle prizes. Raffle winners will be drawn during the Awards Ceremony.

Finally, all participants will receive an electronic certificate of thanks for their support for Cradles to Crayons!

What ages can participte?

All ages can participate!

Registration includes participation for all members of a household. If the registering family member is under 18, a parent name & email address is required so that we may get confirmation and agreement to our waiver and photo release. 

C2C Quest is an ideal event for the whole family because various missions may be better suited for different ages.  For example: some missions will require posting to social media that teens & younger children might not be able to complete on their own. Other missions will involve gathering children’s items to donate, so you’ll need some little ones who are ready to part with their stuff.  And many missions will just be easier to accomplish (and more fun!) if several family members work together.

Is there a registration fee?

Registration to participate in C2C Quest requires a donation to the Cradles to Crayons Resilience Fund. You may choose any amount you wish to donate. All funds raised through registration donations will support Cradles to Crayons’ efforts to acquire, process, and distribute essential items to local children living in low-income or homeless situations.

Note: Only ONE registration donation is required per family, and all members of that household may participate together.

Please consider one of these suggested household donation amounts:

$33 – It costs an average of $33 for Cradles to Crayons to acquire, process, and distribute a complete customized KidPack® for one child.

$100 – Through our bulk distribution efforts, we are able to provide FIVE children with high quality, seasonal clothing for approximately $100.

As a benefit of their support level, current Family Leadership Circle members can register without making an additional donation at this time.

Which registration option should I choose in Eventbrite?

To participate in the FAMILY Division, choose to register “as an individual” and then submit a Family Team Registration.

You will be asked additional questions about your other family members who will play along with you.

In the FAMILY Division, each household is a unique team, competing against other families.

If you are creating or joining a multi-household team to compete in the COMMUNITY Division, choose to register “as a team member.”

In the COMMUNITY and CORPORATE Divisions, each household acts as one team player. Several families will play together on the same team, competing against other multi-household teams.

How do I become a Team Captain?

Every COMMUNITY & CORPORATE team needs a Team Captain who will set up your team, serve as a key communicator for Cradles to Crayons & event info, and coordinate team responses to maximize points earned.

What is the Resilience Fund?

Since the start of the pandemic, C2C has supported more than 160,000 children throughout the Greater Philadelphia region by providing clothing, shoes, coats, school supplies, books, hygiene items, diapers, and more.

The economic impact of covid-19 has had a disproportionate effect on families we serve. More than half of households earning less than $35,000 suffered a loss of income over the past year. Many are still struggling to make ends meet, with 47% currently behind in housing payments or other bills.

The Resilience Fund aims to alleviate hardship & stress, caused or exacerbated by the pandemic, by helping Cradles to Crayons to acquire, process, and distribute essential items to children and families who are working to get back on their feet, so they have one less thing to worry about.

All C2C Quest registration donations will support the Cradles to Crayons Resilience Fund.

If you made your donation on our Cradles to Crayons website, or by check or DAF, we still need you to register for C2C Quest using the Eventbrite page.  Please email us at familiesphiladelphia@cradlestocrayons.org.  A member of our team will be able to look up your donation record and provide a registration code so that you can sign up at Eventbrite without having to make an additional donation. I'm a member of Family Leadership Circle - how do I register?

Thank you for being a valued member of our Family Leadership Circle! 

Your family’s participation in C2C Quest is included as a benefit of your membership. However, you will still need to register on the Eventbrite page. A complimentary registration code was provided in your FLC news email on April 1.
