Ready For Learning
Help 65,000+ Massachusetts Children
Get What They Need This Fall To Learn All Year!
The long term impacts of the COVID-19 education gap will be significant to children’s developmental preparedness–especially the children we serve, who were already struggling. No matter what learning or school look like in the coming year, students will always need school supplies and other essentials to feel empowered and ready to learn. Our Ready for Learning initiative will distribute age-appropriate, critical learning supplies and other items necessary for a new school year–such as clothing, shoes and hygiene items–to students up to age 12 through our network of Service Partners, to ensure that kids have everything they need to feel ready to learn this fall.
Why this matters.
- 88% of teachers say that poverty is one of the top obstacles to students’ success.
- 1 in 2 American households report some employment or income loss during the ongoing pandemic.
- As more families struggle to afford essentials like food and rent, spending an average of $320 a year on school supplies is unrealistic and unaffordable.
