LowerGwynedd-Ambler-Whitpan Patch, by Lou Zimmer

ALL SMILES…AND FOR GOOD REASONS, actually, nearly 4,500 good reasons. That’s the amount of money raised in the 2012 Annual Manufacturers’ Golf and Country Club’s Ladies Charity Golf Outing in support of the work done by local nonprofit Cradles to Crayons. Nancy Hopkins (right), president of the Ladies Golfing Association, which, along with the Club’s Pro Shop, was a key supporter of the event, presents the “large” check to Michal Smith (left), Cradles to Crayons executive director. Darlene Sherman, a Club member and an active volunteer at the West Conshohocken-based nonprofit, who spearheaded the Club’s decision to make Cradles to Crayons the beneficiary of this year’s charity event, joins in the presentation. Darlene and Nina Nell co-chaired the Ladies Golf Outing.
