Cradles to Crayons Expands Leadership Team. Leading nonprofit announces Aubrey Conquergood as Executive Director in Boston

January 30, 2020, BOSTON, MA—Cradles to Crayons® is proud to announce the hire of Aubrey Conquergood as Executive Director for the organization’s Boston site. The addition of this experienced professional and talented leader is designed to help Cradles to Crayons advance its mission of mitigating Clothing Insecurity by providing clothing and essential items to children living in low-income and poverty situations across the Commonwealth.

By volunteering with my own children over the years, I have experienced first-hand the incredible impact that Cradles to Crayons has on the lives of children in Massachusetts. I believe that all kids across our communities deserve the opportunity to grow and succeed without worrying about having a backpack for school or boots for a cold winter day,” said Conquergood. “I am honored to be leading the Boston organization to ensure that children, and their families, have what they need to thrive.

Conquergood joins Cradles to Crayons following 20 years as an executive working across both the private and non-profit sectors. She brings valuable experience in development, marketing, operations, and customer experience to enable Cradles to Crayons continued growth. Conquergood is transitioning from major gift fundraising where she led Beth Israel Lahey Health’s new Health Technology initiative. Previously, Conquergood served on the executive team at C Space as Vice President of Client Services where she focused on building strategic partnerships and setting global strategies to ensure growth and success. She also comes to Cradles to Crayons with extensive brand management experience following many years working at Unilever and Procter & Gamble.

Throughout her career, Conquergood has actively supported communitydriven initiatives including 14 years involved in the start-up and growth of the Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma Research Foundation, the leading global cancer research foundation for a rare cancer. Conquergood has also been an active volunteer with Cradles to Crayons spending time in The Giving Factory® with her own two children, one of whom took part in the organization’s popular Teen Leadership Corps for four years.

We are confident that the Cradles to Crayons mission will continue to develop and thrive under Aubrey’s leadership,” said Aidan Riordan, Chair of the Boston Board of Directors at Cradles to Crayons. “She arrives with a track record of commitment to her community which we are excited to see reflected in her leadership. Speaking for the Board of Directors, we look forward to establishing a strong relationship so we may continue to effectively address the challenges facing children and families throughout Massachusetts.”

“Aubrey’s experience tells a story of mission-driven work and passionate engagement with her community, which we excitedly welcome to our Cradles to Crayons family. We are particularly thrilled to have Aubrey with us during our upcoming relocation to our ‘Forever Home’ in Newtonville, where, under her thoughtful leadership, we will continue to serve children and families across the Commonwealth,” said Lynn Margherio, CEO and Founder of Cradles to Crayons.
